Job Description: The MSH freight broker will assist the sales, carrier management, and customer service activities of the MSH office. The objective will be to meet/exceed company-established sales, profit, and customer service objectives. Working conditions will reflect an entrepreneurial environment, with the expectations of being a self-starter. This role will report directly to the operations manager and work very closely with the sales and operations team members of Superior Global Logistics and CMAC Transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet/Exceed established Sales targets.

• Develop both Direct/In Direct customer base.

• Develop third-party carrier base.

• Responsible for assisting all load coverage assigned

• Negotiate best-in-class rates with all carriers.

• Leverage TMS system, to include CRM functionalities.

• Post any available freight not in the system to the necessary load boards

• Call carriers daily to capture available capacity

• Book trucks on loads in a profitable and efficient manner

• Candidate must be able to handle repetitive work without losing interest, have attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task

• Achieve departmental revenue and margin goals on freight covered

• Ensure all new carrier packets are complete prior to handing off for review

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Direct/In-Direct Sales, Negotiations, Multiple Modes of Transportation, Carrier Management and Negotiations, P&L, Microsoft Office, Customer Service, Customer management, Sense of urgency, Decision-making skills, Self-starter

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
